Teaching old algae new tricks

It is not designer life, made of "Bioblocks" as I've described before. It is another great idea. Nano-technologists have long tried to build motors, flagella, and various means of providing mobility to nano-scale machines. A group of scientists decided to take an easier route - just borrow a life form that already does more or less what you want. A Harvard team team has developed a technique that enables algae to carry cargo for significant distances (at that scale). It is an interesting result.
